Survey Says: Expanded Info
February 4, 2010
Expanded info on previous updates regarding the yearend questionnaire:
- Management office hours and accessibility:
- A task force of the Board met with Lesley and the VP of Avalon Management about various matters and concerns on 1/27
- Many respondents felt office hours were too short,* so these have been extended to 8-5 M-F
- Many felt it was difficult to connect and communicate with Avalon staff,** so this has been discussed at length
- One step to improve it is a new gathering called Muffins with the Manager. Homeowners are invited to attend and provide constructive feedback at the first meeting on 2/16 at 10 am
- Another step is the online Maintenance Request form on the mvhoa.com website. This system will now send a prompt reply so you know your submission has been received, and you may use this form for various communications (not just maintenance requests). This is MUCH more effective than telephoned requests, and is tracked by the Board
- Enforcement of rules by access control officers
- Most respondents liked the officers themselves***
- But felt enforcement was lax****
- On 2/2 the Safety Committee met with Wackenhut, which committed to considerable, specific improvements
- Also, the Post Orders are being revised to better reflect our existing rules & regulations
- And a new guard cart has been ordered to supplement our aging fleet and enable longer patrols.
Lots more feedback and actions to come! - D. White
