Welcome to Manhattan Village Homeowners Association

Nestled into a secluded, guard gated area of Manhattan Beach, Manhattan Village is an exclusive collection of 400 custom town and court homes representing the finest in beach living.

The community boasts a main pool and spa area, four additional spas within the community, and a quiet family atmosphere.

In addition to a seven member Board of Directors, the community is governed by a variety of active committees. The Board and the Committees are comprised of homeowner volunteers, assisted by The Avalon Management Group, a local professional management company.

Management Office Hours Extended

January 29, 2010

In response to homeowner requests, management office hours have been a topic of discussion between the Board and Avalon Management. As a result, office hours are being extended. Effective Monday, February 1, the management office will now be open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday-Friday. Thanks Avalon!

Edison Vault Problems: Update

January 28, 2010

Time to start contacting Edison and the Public Utilities Commission directly about our Edison vault explosions. Please see the attached and take a moment to express your views to the appropriate parties. The MB City Council is already behind us; no need to contact them further at this point!

Surveys Results Coming

January 25, 2010

Denise Riley, Board Secretary and Chair of the Communications Committee, reports that that over 150 of the year-end surveys were returned. Great input from homeowners with many practical suggestions for improvement. Detailed report to be given on results (both good and the bad!) at our Annual Membership Meeting on March 2nd. Several actionable matters are already being addressed by the Board.

Annual Meeting: Save the Date

This year's Annual Membership Meeting will be held at the Manhattan Country Club on Tuesday, March 2, at 7:00 pm. Meeting notices and related materials have been mailed to all residents; the agenda appears on this website. The meeting will include Board and Committee Reports, a Management Report, and, assuming a quorum is reached, tabulation of votes for this year's Election of Directors.

Too Many Trees? Latest news for iphone/AT&T Customers

This direct from AT&T's Network Engineering Group for Los Angeles regarding Manhattan Village:

"The area in question is indicated to have marginal predictive outdoor level coverage due to the high amount of foliage covering the area. No plans in the near future that will increase the coverage area. One suggestion is to advise the customer about the AT&T 3G microcell solution coming in April of 2010 which comprises of a mobile that is connect to an existing modem or cable router."

2010 Painting Plan

From the Architecture Committee, here's the order in which we will be painting the units slated for attention in 2010:

1. Bermuda Court (now underway)
2. 14,16,18,20,22,24,26,28,30,32,34 Fairway
3. Marin Court
4. San Miguel Court
5. Cordoba Court
6. 41,45 Sausalito Circle West

Due to the rain, Bermuda Court color palettes will be posted in the garage of Ruck Nichols (12 Bermuda Ct.; 310 545-9480) through the coming weekend. If you're located in Bermuda Court, give Ruck a call to see them and register your preferences.

Wireless Reception and Electrical Vault Issues

January 20, 2010

The Board has enlisted the aid of the MB City Council in addressing our wireless service (AT&T) and electrical vault (Edison) issues. Thanks to Richard Montgomery, Portia Cohen, and Wayne Powell for taking up our cause and encouraging the appropriate vendors to step up to the plate at last night's Council meeting. Though these matters aren't the responsibility of the City, Council's support is key to getting the matters addressed. We have that support, so it's important to contact the vendors themselves with any complaints and concerns.
