Met onsite with Edison representatives earlier this month to discuss transformer vault explosions. Edison was much more receptive than in the past and revealed their records of the 3 vault events we had last year: one high voltage, two line voltage.

Earth Hour is World Wildlife Fund's global initiative where individuals, schools, organizations, businesses and governments turn off their lights for one hour. This year's Earth Hour is Saturday evening, March 27, 2010, at 8:30 p.m. local time.

While this event is part of the deeply debated climate change initiative, the broader benefits of resource conservation are well understood on many levels.

George Butts and Vickie Ruch of the Manhattan Beach Community Emergency Response Team Association (CERT)has asked that the MVHOA Membership be advised of upcoming CERT trainings, events and information. It is our pleasure to provide this information to the MVHOA Community.

CERT is a great community resource and is key in training Manhattan Beach residents on how to be properly prepared in case of natural disasters and emergencies.

At our latest Board meeting, we began taking sign-ups for participants in the new Manhattan Village HOA Neighborhood Watch program being organized by Safety & Security Task Force leader Ruck Nicholls and MBPD officer Stephanie Martin . Everyone interested in participating in Neighborhood Watch should provide their name, email, and phone number to Ruck at ruckbrit@roadrunner.com or 310-545-9480. This is a simple, well-organized, and highly effective program. Training will begin soon!
