Earth Hour
March 25, 2010
Earth Hour is World Wildlife Fund's global initiative where individuals, schools, organizations, businesses and governments turn off their lights for one hour. This year's Earth Hour is Saturday evening, March 27, 2010, at 8:30 p.m. local time.
While this event is part of the deeply debated climate change initiative, the broader benefits of resource conservation are well understood on many levels.
In the Village, the bulk of our common area lights are controlled by sensors which would have to be individually defeated and then re-connected in order for us to participate in this event throughout the common area, costing well over the potential savings in electricity. But all are invited to participate in this global event on an individual basis.
